Spoken Word Conference

Our part in an important “Spoken Word” Conference held at Kingston University

The Institute of the Spoken Word, which has been set up to help combat the paucity of communication skills in all parts of present day society, held its major launch conference in Kingston University on 18th September 2009.
Please click here for details of this important one-day conference.

SpeakersBank has been quite closely connected with the Institute and with its Founder, Dr Andrew Tucker, since its inception, and has participated in the conference.

Jez Sweetland (Chief Executive) and Christine le Cruz of SpeakersBank
presented a Workshop for delegates as part of the conference’s afternoon programme. Click here to see the Abstract describing the Workshop.

Gwyn Redgers, a Trustee of Speakers Trust, presented a paper entitled ‘What speakers clubs tell us, and their potential role’. Click here to read a brief synopsis.

Finally click here to read a brief note on Dr Tucker’s own paper on the Spoken Word Project, which is a collaboration between Kingston University, the Rose Theatre, Kingston, and the Institute of the Spoken Word. We are pleased to announce that SpeakersBank has been selected to play an important role in this whole project.
